On Friday 12th May 2017, a new wave of Ransomware known at "WannaCry" spread across the globe and infected thousands (if not tens or even hundreds of thousands) of computers. This ransomware propagates itself by exploiting a Microsoft Windows velnerability in unpatched computers.
ESET detects this as Win32/Filecoder.WannaCryptor.D, and blocks this threat and it's variants.
